PUDPATE 3

Yella has become increasingly more playful with time. She now loves to play tug-a-war and chase. She also really likes to run around. This girl has a lot of energy to burn, which requires multiple walks/playtimes throughout the day. Yella is a very attention seeking pup. If you are not giving her enough attention, she will make sure you know it. Recently, we started leaving Yella in a secluded room with all non-chew toys put away when we leave for an extended period (up to 2 hours). Yella has done really well with this, and we have not come home to an accident yet. We have been working to overcome Yella's shyness around strangers, but she still needs slow introductions.

PUPDATE 2

After being with her foster family for a couple of weeks, Yella is much more comfortable and is starting to show her true self. She is much more of an affectionate dog, then we originally thought. She actively seeks to lay next to you and really likes belly rubs. Yella has finished taking her antibiotics, but her spay incision site is still being monitored for signs of a reinfection. It was discovered that Yella had tapeworms, and so this is being actively treated. Since treating her infection, Yella has had a lot less accidents in the house. She is also, sleeping throughout the entire night without needing a potty break. We have been working on some of Yella's command, and she is doing really well with “sit” and “shake”. She is such a sweet girl.

PUPDATE 1

Yella wakes up at 6:30 am to go potty and play. After breakfast, she takes her mid-morning nap before another round of potty and play. The rest of the day is filled with walks/potty breaks and even more naps.

She is a shy puppy, and so Yella does not initiate meeting new people. However, after she warms up to you, she is a sweetheart. Yella has had no exposure to children.

Yella would much rather chill than play (unless another dog is involved). With all of that fur, it is easy for her to overheat, and so taking breaks are a necessity. Yella's main form of exercise is going on walks. She does very good on a leash for her age! While on a walk, she does stop if she sees a dog or human and waits patiently until they pass. After every walk, she takes a nap (the longer the walk, the longer the nap). Yella is a great independent player. She doesn't play with her foster family much.

Yella has not had any formal doggy playdates but gets super excited to meet new dogs on our walks. Yella has had no exposure to cats.

She still chews on non-chew toys such as shoes, paper, etc., and so she is crated when left alone. Yella will voice her displeasure with you, but after awhile settles into a nap.

If it was up to Yella, she would spend the entire day laying in the grass. She absolutely loves being outside. Yella is very talkative girl like a Husky might be. She will tell you when she is hungry, when she wants to go outside, if you are not giving her enough attention, etc. Yella is the type of dog who has safe spaces (under couch, bed and desk), this is where she spends most of her time. Yella is not a big snuggler (even though she looks like a teddy bear). She likes being in her foster family's presence but will most often be doing her own thing. You have to keep a close eye on this one, she likes to cause trouble behind closed doors. Yella is currently taking antibiotics to help an infection from a spay incision.
