Miata found a wonderful family on May 8, 2021!
PUPDATE 2
Miata has really improved with leash manners and now loves longer walks on the leash and meeting new friends on our adventures! She has also made a couple of pup friends with dogs that are around her size but is still wary of larger dogs. Crate training has also been going really well and she does a great job of letting me know if she has to go to the bathroom if she’s sleeping in her crate and it’s outside of her regular schedule.
PUPDATE 1
Miata is an absolute gem - we normally wake up around 6:30 am and start our day out with a walk (leash training is still in progress but at this point she walks relatively well on a leash). Following we eat breakfast and play with toys and then she conks out for a nap. This is pretty much the cycle for the day until bedtime around 10:30 pm.
Every human Miata has met has absolutely loved her she is so kind and affectionate both in my apartment and meeting other people. She is big on giving kisses but will sometimes try to bite a finger with her little teeth as she wants to chew everything. From my time with her, we have not encountered any children.
Miata is a typical puppy - she has a lot of energy that comes in bursts, but a nice walk and tug-of-war/fetch is all she needs for a really good naptime. The leash is still a work in progress as she discovers the world, sometimes she will just plop down or try to chew her leash but our walks have definitely been fun.
Miata is afraid of larger dogs, likely due to her size but tolerates dogs around her size. Normally on walks when she sees another dog she will sit and just stare at them for a few second before continuing on our walk.
She has made a couple of cat friends! She has no problem running up to a cat or being near a cat but there was one affectionate cat that really warmed up to her and Miata got a little freaked out when the cat tried to rub against her (she just ran away).
Miata is still at the point where she cries if left alone. She really likes being around people. She has gotten better in terms of playing in my living room while I work in my kitchen (she can still see me a little/knows I'm close by).
Miata is an absolute sweetheart and the best puppy (not necessary info but I can't stress enough that she is just the best little nugget).
