PUPDATE#2

Wynona decided to show us she can play fetch, today! She sweetly brought us a ball that she spotted laying around and dropped it at our feet. We threw it and she promptly ran to grab it and drop it at our feet again! For as timid as she can seem with new people, she is NOT a timid fetch player. When we didn’t pick up the ball fast enough from the ground she picked it up again and flung it to us excitedly to make sure we knew the assignment. She was good for about 10 throws/runs before she watched us throw the ball and then turned into a donut on the couch for a nap. Gotta love a gal with boundaries.

Watching her personality come out as she gains trust is pretty amazing. She is going to make an outstanding and expressive companion.

She also would do well with a dog companion when introduced slowly. She had shown more and more attention to our resident dog, and enjoys following her around the house and yard when a human isn’t available.

PUPDATE #1

We wake up around 6:30/7am and let Wynona out. She then follows us around until someone sits down and she crawls into a lap and takes a nap. If we are not sitting, we put her back in her crate, or make her a blanket bed outside the crate and she falls asleep there. We take her out again over lunch and she follows us around until dinner. We keep food and water out for her starting in the morning. She nibbles throughout the day. She is a low-key snuggly dog. She is great being dressed up in sweaters, and hats!

She takes about 3 days to fully warm up to people inside the home. A routine helps her a lot with going outside and food. Once she has attached, she stays very close and is a constant companion. New people she is more timid with and must be introduced slowly to avoid the panic. Wynona does great with my kids ages 8, 10, 11, 13. She came from a home with a 1 year old. I do feel like she would be very anxious in a home with constant small children around, but would do well with an occasional child.

Wynona is great on a leash. She doesn't require strenuous exercise, an occasional walk is just great. She will follow wherever, she just wants to be with you. Have I mentioned she is snuggly?

Wynona does great with our resident dog. She was nervous at first, took about 3 days to fully engage and energy levels to even out. Wynona has not had exposure to cats in our care.

We haven't had Wynona uncrated while we are gone. I do believe she feels most at peace in her crate when we are gone though. She can anxiously try to find us if she is outside of her crate so I can imagine that could be confusing for her if were were gone and she was uncrated. If she is crated and can hear us in the other room, she will whimper quietly for a short while, but then quickly falls asleep.

She needs a little patience, (3 days) to come out of her shell. But after that her little tail wags all the time and she is just obsessed with her humans.
