Updates

Winston sleeps on a comfy dog bed in his foster mom's bedroom floor with a wake-up around 6:30am. Morning is for potty, breakfast, walks, and play time! Winston will then alternately play and sleep during the daytime hours. He has dinner around 6pm and then settles in for the night around 8pm. He sleeps through the night without any potty incidents.

Winston is very affectionate and friendly! He LOVES meeting people and getting lots of pets and loves. He is a gentle giant!

Winston has been fostered with an 8-year-old human and has done well in his interactions with him. While he is gentle and mild, he does tend to jump on people right now and can knock people and small kids over. He'll need to continue his training on how to greet people without knocking them down!

Winston has a medium energy level, but loves being outside and exercise. He is the best leash walker I've ever had! He has been walked on leash with both a harness and a collar and has done very well on both. He doesn't pull or move too far from his human. Winston loves long walks and has a LOT of endurance. He'd make a good hiking, biking, or running buddy.

Winston is currently fostered with a littermate (male) and an 8-year old-German Shepherd/Lab mix. He does well with them but sometimes likes his quiet and space. He likes laying on a dog bed in his foster mom's office while she works during the day and will often sneak over for pets and love.

Winston has not been introduced to cats since I’ve been fostering him.

Winston needs to be crated or kenneled when his people aren't around for now. Like a typical puppy, he will chew on people things like shoes, glasses, and clothing. He may grow out of this phase as he gets older and with working on redirecting to chewing on appropriate toys. While he may try to chew on these items when his people ARE around, he responds well to correction and will stop and redirect to toys. When crated with some toys, he is mild and laid back, alternately sleeping and playing with his toys.

Winston is the sweetest dog with so much love to give! He will likely be a larger dog given his current size and the size of his paws. He's had a bit of a rough start to his life, but as he has gotten healthier his wonderful personality is really shining through! Winston is the kind of furry companion you can snuggle on the couch with at night, have him hop in the car with you for a road trip, or take on an adventure exploring new places. Winston is also a very smart boy and picks up on training very easily. He wants to make his people happy and work along side them in whatever they do! He truly enjoys being outside and observing the world around him. He is looking for a furever home where he can have a strong connection with his people!
