Vance sleeps quietly in his kennel at night. He wakes up when we get up and most mornings we take him on about a 20 minute walk. He has an adorable little dance that he does when he sees us getting out the leash. After the walk he gets fed and goes outside again. He is kenneled while we work from home and is quiet in the kennel. He is usually let out at lunch time as well since we are home. He has dinner at about 5:30 and has playtime and snuggles before bed.
Vance has done well with all of the people he has met. He has not met children under the age of 12 while in our care, but has done well with older children. He loves to get attention from people.
We take Vance on a walk most days but when he does not get a walk he is not overly energetic. He is a low energy dog but loves to throw his toys for himself when he wants to play. He will also play fetch in the house with his toys. He does very well on the leash and doesn't pull or do too much sniffing when we are trying to keep moving. He does get tired when we are nearing the end of the walk so I'm not sure he would like to go for longer than 20 minutes.
Vance has not met a lot of dogs in our care but did great right away meeting our 8 year old yellow lab. He has met large and small dogs on walks and likes to sniff and then keep walking. Vance has not met cats in our home.
A grade 4 heart murmur was detected for Vance at the vet in early July. No signs of congestive heart failure have been noted on physical exam or historically. Fetch will work with Vance’s adopters on additional diagnostics.
Vance is kenneled when we are not home. He loves his kennel and will often go in there to sleep when we are home. I work from home most days and Vance is typically quiet in his kennel Vance is such a sweet little dog. He is playful and loves to snuggle. He does not bark very much so could also do well in an apartment.
