Uno requires some time to wake up in the morning, as his foster family wakes up quite early, and he would prefer to sleep in late. He goes out to potty, has breakfast during his morning training session, and is crated while his foster parents are at work. Uno sleeps when he is left alone in his crate. In the evening, he goes for a walk and has supervised time out of his crate.
He would prefer to be left alone and initiate contact with humans - both inside and outside the home - on his own terms. It is important that he is given time and space to warm up to new people and that his adopter advocates for him.
Uno has not had exposure to children.
He requires very little exercise, but it is important that he gets at least one fifteen-minute walk per day. Uno does well on a slip lead leash for walks. He is very low energy.
Uno does well with dogs who ignore him but does not like dogs who get into his space or try to play. He is looking for a chill home. Uno is curious about our resident cat but has not chased her.
He is a grumpy old man – he doesn’t like people on his lawn, he naps most of the day, he enjoys snacks more than people, and he’d prefer to be left alone to do his own thing and initiate human contact and affection on his own terms. After spending time with his foster family, he has begun to display very sweet and affectionate behavior; he has a big heart to match his appetite.
Uno will thrive in a home with structure and firm boundaries with an owner who advocates for him, allows him to initiate affection on Uno’s terms, and is familiar with bulldog breed care and maintenance.
