PUPDATE 2
Hi! My name is Beanie and I am a doggo friend of Tripp. My mom suggested that I write to let all of you know what a swell pal he is. Tripp is super fun to play with, and I should know, I get to meet and play with a lot of dogs. He likes to run around and wrestle with me in our yards. He is never too rough, and he knows when to take a rest. He runs and then likes to “chill” and sniff and get scratches from the people. I am not good at chillin' and my mom says I could learn a few things from Tripp.
Tripp can be shy and seems to like to meet people slowly at first, but he warms up pretty quickly, especially when the people have treats. He now greets my mom with a wiggly butt and lots of kisses. He gets more treats than I do because he acts appropriately when he meets people. I am so excited to meet all people and dogs that I just try to tackle them all.
One time, Tripp and I got to go to a party at my house with a lot of new people. Tripp met everyone, got lots of good scratches and then settled under the table of six people for a nice nap. Mom said that is what good doggos do, but I was too busy stealing shoes to slobber on (very fun!). Tripp also likes to snuggle with my mom. That’s ok with me because I think Tripp is a cool dude and should get as many snuggles as he wants.
(Note from Beanie’s mom - Tripp is a very sweet dog. Everyone who has met him in person agrees. His temperament is calm and curious but after a little time he warms up (not rambunctious and crazy excitable like some dogs I know…). He will be a great cuddly companion for someone.
PUPDATE 1
Tripp is happy to snooze on the bed until I get up. Once I greet him with an enthusiastic "good morning!" his tail starts wagging, and he'll do some stretches and try to get some belly rubs. This is followed by a quick walk around the block to relieve himself, then some time playing in the yard before breakfast. Tripp is easily kenneled for 4 hours at a time with a simple “kennel up” command. It took him 3 weeks to get into a good routine when alone in his crate. He loves playing fetch and will galumph after his toys then zoom around with his prize, or searching with his nose for a durable chew treat that blends in with the grass.
Tripp enjoys meeting people. On walks, he likes circling around to creep up behind people. He enjoys meeting small groups of people. Tripp has done well meeting kids on walks who are calm and collected.
He is a medium energy dog. Tripp has some bursts of energy around nighttime if he’s been crated all day. A good game of fetch will wear him right out. He is excellent on leash as in no pulling and follows politely.
Tripp attends daycare at Happy Dogz in Middleton twice a week. The staff only have wonderful things to say about him!
Tripp does well meeting dogs in a neutral area and goes for a little walk. Slow intros area always best for him! Once he is comfortable with a new dog, they become besties. Tripp has met cats with his southern foster and was too playful. He will need a home without cats.
