Tootsie waits patiently in his crate for his humans to wake up and gets let out between 7 am and 9 am to go to the bathroom and eat breakfast when he returns. He lays on the couch all day while his humans work and gets a long walk in at the end of the day, before dinner. He goes out once more at the end of the night, before being crated and sleeping.
He can be a little shy around new people, especially men, but once he warms up to you, he loves to be pet and scratched. He has met several young children (<2years old) and was gentle with them while sniffing them.
Tootsie has medium energy levels, and will run with you for a few miles, but will lay contentedly on the couch the rest of the day. He does best being walked 45-60 minutes a day. He's a big sniffer and will sniff everything in sight/pull you around if you don't tell him to leave it, or heel.
Tootsie will bark at other dogs and sound aggressive while on walks, but after being allowed to sniff them, is really very gentle with them. He has not had any exposure to cats.
If the garbage is closed and shoes are put away, Tootsie is fine to be left alone, and won't make a mess or get into anything.
He does have periods of slight incontinence and will leak slightly on a couch if you let him sleep there.
