Updates

Tina wakes up around 7 and goes outside for a potty break and quick walk around the block. Then it’s time for breakfast and playing with her toys before going back into her crate when I go to work. She's able to be unsupervised when I'm in another room in the house, but Tina does like to chew on things so it's important to put things away if she's left on her own. For that reason she is crated whenever I'm not home. Tina likes shorter walks, but will go on longer ones when the weather is nice. She seems to prefer to play indoors with her toys. She's great about letting me know when she needs a bathroom break by barking or nipping at me (sometimes her barks can be mistaken for playing so then she'll nip). She grazes on her food throughout the day so she doesn't have a separate dinner time. She goes out once more around 11 p.m. and then goes right to bed. She has been sleeping through the night.

Tina loves meeting people and her tail wags so vigorously that her whole butt wiggles. She doesn't bark at people but will pull on the leash or jump a little if she gets too excited.

Tina has met a few kids and does well when they want to pet and play with her. She doesn't mind when her ears or face or feet are touched, but she gets spooked when people approach her from behind so I always let kids know that they need to approach her when she can see them. She does not get aggressive when spooked but will try to run a little.

Tina is fairly good on a leash with a prong collar. She often pulls and sometimes tries to bite and play with the leash without it. She has a medium-high energy level but much prefers to use it to play with her toys instead of going on lots of walks. She likes to play fetch and tug of war.

Tina likes to meet dogs and her tail starts wagging when other dogs get close on the sidewalk. She's friendly but can jump and paw at dogs so slow introductions work best.

She lives with a cat now and the cat does not like to play, so while Tina is still very interested in what he's doing, she is learning to leave him alone.

When I'm not home Tina is crated and she does extremely well in the crate. When I let her out she is not overly excited and often will take a big stretch before casually coming out of the crate. I don't let her free roam because she has normal puppy chewing behavior, but if she's in an area where there's nothing she shouldn't chew on I would be fine leaving her out.

When she gets bored she can bark, so it's important to make sure she gets in play time and a few short walks every day. She's very smart and loves learning new commands, which helps with her boredom. The poor girl gets pretty car sick because she often tries to stand up. She has done better traveling in a crate but it hasn't totally solved the issue.
