Updates

Hi! I’m Thor, and I am MIGHTY cute! I am so excited and happy to find my furever home. I’ll let my foster mom tell you all about how wonderful and cute I am, but I just wanted to say hi, and I can’t wait to meet you!

Thor is an adorable, fuzzy retriever mix puppy. When he arrived from down south, it took him a little bit to get used to the cold white stuff outside, but he quickly learned that it’s pretty fun to eat and romp around in! Thor’s typical day starts around 6am with a trip outside, followed by breakfast. After breakfast it’s back outside, and then it’s time to play with toys and settle in for a nap. This is on repeat until bedtime, with occasional car rides to the post office, Mounds, or maybe Starborks. He typically wakes up once or twice during the night to potty, and settles back in quickly.

Potty training is going great. He’s catching on very quickly and loves the praise he gets when he potties outside. With regular potty breaks, he’s been mostly accident free, which is great for a pup his age.

In our care Thor has not been around kids or cats, but his southern foster reported that he was kid and cat friendly. Much to Thor’s dismay, he has so far been unsuccessful at getting our resident grumpy dog to play with him, but he’s respectful of his space and cues. Thor recently went to doggy daycare and absolutely loved it! Thor would thrive in a home with another dog to teach him the ropes, but I think he could also be happy with regular playdates, trips to the dog park, or doggy daycare. Being a puppy with puppy teeth and energy, he should be closely monitored around kiddos.

Thor is a very social little guy and is always looking for a lap to crawl up onto. He likes following me around the house and scampering in between my legs as I’m walking. He loves snuggling his face into your neck and making the cutest little puppy grunts. Thor does great in the car and was a rockstar during his last vet visit. He walks well on the leash (except the aforementioned puppy trip hazard) and loves exploring new places. He's a smart pup who picked up on ‘sit’ right away and can figure out a puzzle feeder in record time.

Thor is working hard at being comfortable with being left alone. In the short time that we’ve had him he’s making progress with crate training. He’s such a young pup that I think once he settles into a routine with his forever people, this will be resolved with training and confidence building. But, for a tiny guy he is very vocal and isn’t shy about vocalizing his big puppy feelings! Shared walls may be a challenge while this is still a work in progress.

Thor can’t wait to meet you and wiggle his way into your home and heart!

Due to Thor’s age, he has not yet been neutered. He will be adopted out with an addendum to the adoption agreement to be altered at an appropriate age.
