Tater found his family March 25, 2021!

Tater Tot wants to spend his day as your activity buddy, partner in crime, or just plain old companion. As long as it is with you, he will give unlimited tail wags! Tater is a medium energy dog and spends most of his day lazily sleeping next to his foster mom on the couch but loves their daily park or walk activities together!

Introductions to new people are no problem for this pup! Tater Tot is a lover by nature and wants to be in everyone's' space as much as possible. He is still working on certain people manners. He is extremely friendly and outgoing around all people, but tends to jump on them out of excitement at first but quickly stops at the command of no.

Tot has a tendency to nip out of non-aggressive excitement, and, therefore, should not be exposed to young children who may get him riled up without knowing. He should never be left alone with small children as he is strong and will overpower them with his size.

Tater Tot is quite a relaxed dog for his size and breed and does not bark at all (I have only heard it once!). He knows that inside is not a place to run around and act crazy, and that those behaviors are reserved for the park or on hikes. His favorite part about walks is smelling all of the interesting things around the city, and, therefore, stops often while walking and pulls a bit in order to smell things. He has greatly improved on his leash manners since coming to his foster home, however!

He is a rough player when given the chance to play with other dogs but has never shown aggression towards any size of dogs. He has not lived with another dog under his foster home's care, so precaution should be taken on introductions if you already have another dog!

Tot has interacted with one cat and didn't seem to care at all about its presence, which, in our book, is a great thing! He has also been exposed to a domesticated rabbit and showed no reactive or aggressive behaviors towards it. He is very friendly towards furry friends of all shapes and sizes.

Tater Tot can be left alone out of crate for very short periods of time (to run and get the mail, throw out the trash, etc) but shouldn't be left home alone for long periods of times as he has gotten into things he should not have when left. Luckily, he loves his crate very much and always runs into it on command with his tail wagging!

Tater has some tartar accumulation so a dental might be necessary in the next 1-2 years.

Tater Tot is the sweetest, most loyal dog that I have ever interacted with. He will need a family to help with his nippy/mouthy behavior. If you want a pup that will be your best friend and adventure buddy, this is your guy!
