Shiloh sleeps all night in his kennel. We wake up around 6 am and go outside. Shiloh will pee on every tree trunk or fence post he walks by. He does ok in the snow, but it is not his favorite. Before the snow came we would go for several short walks throughout the day for pee breaks and exercise. After the morning pee break he gets fed with his foster sister. While I am at work he is allowed to free roam in the apartment and has done great with that. He has not had any accidents while I have been at work. I leave out toys or chew bones for the dogs, but I think they spend most of the time sleeping. After work we spend the afternoons chasing toys and cuddling on the couch.
Shiloh loves people and will ask for pets. He loves to cuddle with them all day long.
Shiloh met my young niece and nephew during Christmas and did well with them. He was slow to approach at first, but then would want to go by them for pets. As long as they do not pull his ears or tail, he has done will around small children so far.
Shiloh likes to go on walks when the weather is good. He loves to pee on all the trees we pass along the way. I have tried to get him interested in toys at home and he has shown some interest in them. But he is also find taking naps at your side while you watch Netflix.
Shiloh lives with a foster sister currently, a chi mix. They are the same size so they do well together. Shiloh is scared of big dogs. He was surrendered by his previous owners because he was getting attacked by coyotes. Because of this, he seems to think all big dogs will attack him. When one gets close to him he will bare his teeth and give a warning growl. He could only live with another dog if they were a small breed.
Shiloh has not had exposure to cats while in my care.
Shiloh is not a fan of car rides and needs to be confined to a dog car harness or travel kennel to keep him in place and secure.
Shiloh was positive for Anaplasma, a tick-borne disease, in mid-December but is not showing any clinical signs. A positive result for Anaplasma just indicates antibodies to this bacteria, not necessarily active infection. Per our rescue protocol, he is currently being given a round of antibiotics.
Shiloh is a sweet heart. He loves to be by his humans and receive lots of cuddles and pets. He likes rest his head on your chest whenever possible.
