Hello Friends! I’m Shiloh! I came all the way from Louisiana to escape wildfires. I am so excited and happy to start my new life in Wisconsin. Let my foster mom tell you all about why you should come meet me!

Shiloh’s day starts around 7 a.m. with a trip outside. She is usually very efficient because she knows that when we get back inside it’s time for breakfast! After breakfast Shiloh comes to work with me where she splits her time between napping and running around in the dog run outside the office. On days when I have out of office meetings Shiloh stays home in her crate. She has been crated for 4-5 hours at a time with no issues. Just make sure you leave her with a treat and a toy!

Shiloh is a low-energy dog who likes to run around for a few minutes and then likes to rest. She loves playing with other dogs, or chasing a toy around, but she loves sleeping just as much. Shiloh loves a good snuggle but often prefers to lay on the floor for her naps. She wishes the resident cat would cuddle with her, but she knows that he prefers his space so she leaves him alone (aside from giving him a good sniff here and there).

She is timid at first when going to a new place or meeting new people, but she’s progressed well the more socialization she gets. She has never been aggressive when she’s nervous. She’s been a great companion getting coffee or drinks on a patio, and even has a favorite spot to sit in at our local bar. She’s gotten used to the sounds of downtown, including all the loud construction equipment, but large crowds and lots of noise are still make her anxious. She currently lives in a condo and the normal hallway noise doesn’t bother her at all. She has only barked at a noise once!

Her training has gone extremely well. She hasn’t had an accident in the house for quite a while. She will usually tell me when she needs to go out, but if she hasn’t been out in 4-5 hours then I’ll take her out just in case. She likes to get her business out of the way quickly, but sometimes we need to take a walk around the block before she finds just the right spot.

Shiloh’s dinnertime is around 6. After dinner we work on commands (she’s great at “sit”, “stay”, and “leave it” and she’s getting good at “touch” and “down”). I use her normal food for training practice because she seems to like that even more than the training treats. After practicing her commands she lounges and gets one more break outside before bedtime. She goes in her crate around 10 and sleeps through the night. She loves a peanut butter and frozen banana kong as her bedtime snack and goes in her crate on her own to earn her treat.

Shiloh has been one of the easiest foster dogs I’ve ever had and is an absolute sweetheart. Because she is timid at first, it makes it all the more exciting when you see her tail wagging or how fast she runs back to you when you call to her. If you make her feel comfortable and safe you’ll be her favorite person in the whole world.
