Shadow has the softest coat ever and absolutely loves to be pet — once she’s warmed up to you! Don’t worry though, she’s quick to trust, and just needs a few minutes to realize you’re okay — and treats always help. She will do anything for food, so training should be a breeze! Once she’s comfy, snuggling is her favorite pass time.
Her ideal home will be one in which she doesn’t need to take a vow of silence. In a typical husky fashion though, she has a lot to say, and if she’s bored, she will fill the silence with her life story. I promise it’s very interesting, and if you’re familiar with the husky talking trait, very endearing! :) She doesn’t have separation anxiety, she just is very smart and high energy. If she hears sounds that she can’t see, she will softly woof at them. If you have shared walls, but work from home, and have an active lifestyle, Shadow could likely adapt well. Otherwise, we recommend a house for her so she can talk without disturbing the neighbors.
In Wisconsin, she’s living in a multi-dog household in the country and doing very well. She is completely crate trained and will sleep quietly in her crate until she hears her people wake up. She is also fully housetrained but is used to going outside every four hours or so during the day. She met cats and ducks in her southern foster home and was very interested in chasing them.
Toys are the only thing Shadow likes more than food, and she is an expert toy de-stuffer and squeaker destroyer. She has not yet chewed anything she’s not supposed to, but we have an adequate toy collection for her to explore.
