Sequin found his forever family on December 8, 2020!
Sequin yawns herself awake at 7:30am, when we wake up for work. But on the weekend, she lets us sleep in until 9am! She goes outside right away to go potty before her breakfast and then back out again after finishing her food. Her schedule is jam packed with snacking, playing with our resident puppy, and napping. Whenever she wakes up from her nap, we make sure to bring her outside immediately. Her favorite hobbies are chewing on toys of all different texture (really, anything - but can be easily redirected) and curling up by our feet.
She can initially be shy towards stranger, but will warm up quickly if they have any treats. She loves hanging out with humans. She's a cuddle monster. Sequin has not been exposed to children.
Sequin is a low to medium energy dog. She gets the occasional zoomie but prefers to spend most of her energy chewing and napping. She does love a quick game of fetch occasionally (she's a natural!). We take her on short 5-10 minutes walks every hour or two, and one nice long walk at night before bedtime.
She will play with our resident puppy until she gets sleepy. When he gets overbearing, she'll seek refuge in our laps or under chairs/coffee tables/couches where he can't bother her. She's learning how to walk on a leash and does very well with quick potty breaks. We feed her separately from our resident puppy. Sequin is the sweetest puppy we've fostered, but she does display some resource and food guarding. Sometimes she shares but gets testy when our resident male dog is too persistent.
We have a grumpy resident cat that Sequin is learning boundaries from. Mostly Sequin leaves her alone but has tried to engage in play a few times. We redirect her energy and attention with toys easily.
Sequin has been left alone in her crate for a short amount of time as she gets very anxious whenever we leave. She barks whenever we leave her alone in the apartment. Sequin can be placated only with her favorite rawhide-free snack and not for a long time.
Given her expected breed as a Great Pyrenees, she'll probably be a larger size dog who will do better in a roomy space. Sequin is the fluffiest sweetheart we've ever fostered - will she be your fluffiest sweetheart?
