PUPDATE 2

The more comfortable Sasha gets in her foster home, the more her spunky side starts to show. We've come to find Sasha doesn't just like the active lifestyle of lots of running, playing, and training she currently leads, but needs this daily sort of mental and physical enrichment to thrive. If you're looking for a chill pup, content to hang out during a typical work day, join you for an evening walk, and a night-time chill sesh, I'm afraid Sasha is not your girl. She has an inclination to learn, and picks up on things very quickly -- both through dedicated training sessions and following the leads of her foster sibling. We've found that, the more she wants something, the more determination she finds to succeed. Sasha is the kind of pup who's up for a run or a brisk walk, a few hours of puppy playtime throughout the day, earning her meals through training, and then she's ready to relax with you in the evening. Her key to happiness is a job to do, and she's a pup who would thrive with a puppy sibling, a run to and a romp around the dog park, or daily doggy daycare.

PUPDATE 1

Sasha has the bouncy energy of her seven-month old puppy self without the typical puppy mischief! She has never had an accident in the house -- in fact, within a matter of hours being in her foster home, learned where the door was and to sit to go out. She LOVES her crate, runs right in when told "crate," and happily hangs out there until her foster fam is ready to get up, or if she's home alone for a while. Playing with her foster siblings is her favorite thing ever, but if they don't want to play, she's very content entertaining herself with toys -- she's an expert stuffing remover and squeaker destroyer. She's also never gotten into anything she shouldn't, however still has puppy curiosities so still needs some supervision -- left to her own devices too long without puppy toys and chews, and she might try to create her own entertainment. :)

Sasha can be shy meeting new people, but once she's warmed up to them, she will happily snuggle up with her humans.

In her Wisconsin foster home, Sasha has not lived with children. However, before coming to Fetch, she did live with a special needs young adult as well as interact with young children. Her southern foster home reports she loved running and playing with both kids and dogs in the backyard as well as suggested she may be a great fit for a family with special needs children.

Sasha has lots of puppy energy and loves the active lifestyle she currently leads. She usually runs a few miles a day with her foster parents, and in fact prefers running to walking. This sniffy hound would love to have her nose glued to the ground, but the quicker pace of a run is more her speed and she happily trots along at your side. She also has several play sessions with her foster siblings throughout the day -- some can last for an hour at a time. In her furever family, Sasha would love a family who can keep up with her!

She loves other dogs! The first few days in her Wisconsin home, she warmed up much quicker to the dogs than humans, and quickly learned the house routine by following their lead. Sasha would really benefit from continued dog interaction -- ideally a resident canine sibling or a few days of daycare each week. She should eat separately from other dogs as she can get a bit protective of her food if another dog is interested, however she currently eats in her crate, and if another dog walks past her crate while she's eating, she now ignores them and continues eating. She has no problem sharing toys with her foster siblings.

Sasha has had no exposure to cats in her current foster home, but also prior to becoming a Fetch pup, she was reported to be good with cats in her Texas foster home.

When home alone, Sasha is currently crated and she's very happy in her crate. She is very curious and loves to sniff about her home. After expending her puppy energy and in a puppy-proofed room, she'd likely do just fine alone, however, she loves her crate and is perfectly content hanging out in there, too.

Sasha is a very bouncy, snuggly, happy-go-lucky and go-with-the-flow puppy! She is incredibly food-motivated and wicked smart -- making training a breeze! She already knows sit, shake, and high-five, and is learning to wait patiently for food and at doorways.
