Scout is a very affectionate, energetic pup. She is super soft and loves hugs. She spends most of her time endlessly romping in our large fenced-in yard with our other dog. She likes to play with and chew on toys, but does not fetch (yet). She is not obedience-trained, but is food motivated and smart, so it wouldn't take too much work to get her there. She is house-trained and does very well in a crate/kennel. She is absolutely quiet, unless our other dog starts barking, then she will join in. She is very athletic - fast and agile like you'd expect for a Border Collie. I think she would do well with activities such as agility or rally. She adores kids and does well with all ages. She needs to work on manners around cats and would do well with a very dog-friendly cat or someone who is willing to put in a lot of work to train her how to behave around cats. She also needs training on how to behave while riding in a vehicle. I think she would do equally well with a single person or with a large bustling family, however, hopefully not in a situation where she spends most of the day crated while owners are at work. She is typical for the breed and will need a high amount of physical and mental stimulation, but will reward you by being the most affectionate and loyal dog and the best lifelong companion you could ever ask for.
