Updates

PUPDATE 3

Sam is a feisty little puppy who is growing like a weed! He is long and lanky and has quite a lot of energy these days as he’s going through a growth spurt and developing quickly. He is learning to walk on a leash outside of the house and is doing very well. He knows place, sit, and relaxes with his humans. He loves getting his picture taken! He enjoys snuggling with his foster mom in the morning, and his favorite activity is chewing on bones. A second favorite activity is taking stuffing out of toys! He plays well with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages. He is ready for a forever family for the holidays!

PUPDATE 2

Sam is doing very well with potty training. He spent almost a week with a sitter, and he went out on a leash for potty breaks without any issues. He knows place, sit, follow, and kennel. We are leash trained in the house and hope to go on walks soon once fully vaccinated. He’s a very smart young man! His favorite activities are taking the stuffing out of toys, playing tug, snuggling, and eating! He is dog friendly, and he’s interested in our cat but not as prey. He is a very sweet, gentle, and fun puppy! Any family would be very lucky to have him.

PUPDATE 1

Sam will adjust to his future owners' schedules but currently wakes up between 4am and 5am. 3-4 nights per week he does need a potty break at 1am or 2am but otherwise sleeps through the night. He plays and trains for 45-60 minutes every morning, then is crated for 7-8 hours per day while his foster parents work. We are working on "follow," boundaries/thresholds, leash training, and "place." In the evenings he plays and trains in the yard and house. He goes to bed around 8pm every night.

Sam LOVES everyone! He enjoys cuddles, pets, playing, and snuggles with people he knows as well as strangers.

He has not had exposure to children while in my foster care.

Sam is medium energy and plays for 4-5 hours per day. He is too young to be in public areas as he isn't fully vaccinated, but we have been leash training in the house. He is doing well with this.

Sam gets along with all of the dogs he has met. He is so sweet and gentle and a great playmate.

Sam will attempt to chase our cat - he seems to believe that she is a playmate, but she disagrees.

Sam cries initially when left alone, but he eventually settles in and quiets down.

He does well in the car if he has someone to hold him but if it's just him and the driver, he will crawl around in the car and try to sit on the driver's lap. A harness or crate is recommended to keep him in one place!

Sam is a typical puppy - a jolly, happy, fun fellow!
