Meet Roamy! True to her name, her favorite thing is to roam around the yard, exploring and investigating all the interesting things. She also loves to find a patch of sun and lounge in it! She walks well on a leash but is happiest when she can run and explore. She can walk nicely on a leash but that is clearly not her preferred way to get exercise! At the end of the day, she loves to sit with her people on the couch, getting all the snuggles she can. She is very smart and knows basic commands. She loves car rides and just being part of whatever is going on!
Like most dogs of her breed, she can be slow to warm up to new people, barking and growling at strangers until she can smell their hand and get a soft scratch so she knows they are safe. She is wary of new people for awhile, barking at people she has already met but who have gone away and come back, but she has never been aggressive in any way. She takes her job of protector of her person/people very seriously, but once you have earned her trust, you have it for real! She is overall a very friendly and wonderful dog. She will just need your patience as she gets used to you and your home and routine.
She doesn't love her crate but has done well in it during the work day. Once she is comfortable, she could probably free roam in the house when you are gone but we have not tried that yet. She sleeps all night on the floor of our room and has not had any accidents in the house. She does not chew on stuff or have any destructive behaviors.
