Say hello to Moka, a young lab mix looking for a family that can give her all the love and cuddles she deserves. She’s a gentle, sensitive pup who is happiest when she’s napping with her head on your lap. She loves a soft dog bed, a warm sunbeam and an evening spent on the couch.
Moka is a great walker and rarely pulls on leash. Even when she tries to chase a squirrel, she doesn’t pull very hard. She’s still learning basic commands, but she has good house manners. She rarely jumps on people and doesn’t counter surf. She gets along very well with her foster family’s resident cat and never tries to chase her.
House training is a work in progress. She's mostly there but needs proactive potty breaks since she won’t tell you when she has to go. She also struggles with holding it in her crate sometimes, so good preparation is necessary if you’re leaving her home alone for more than 4-5 hours without a break.
Moka is a timid girl who startles easily. Loud noises, cars, bikes, and barking dogs can be scary for her. She would rather take the car to a quiet park than walk in a busy neighborhood. She's also not a fan of having her collar and leash put on and will try to run away if she sees them. She’s working on being brave and is making a little progress every day.
Moka needs a calm, predictable environment where she can build her confidence as she grows. Loud voices, chaos, or a busy household might be overwhelming for her right now.
