Updates

March 20th marks Remy’s adoption day!

Remy is usually up by about 7am and goes out several times throughout the day, including a morning and an evening walk. He likes to play and chew during the day and hang out on the couch at night.

Remy is curious about everyone! He is initially cautious but with a little bit of time warms up to people and is playful. He can be quite nippy with his foster parents and is working on being gentle.  Remy has only had limited exposure to children.

He has high energy but is on par for puppy energy. Remy has been going on one shorter walk and one longer walk each day. He has improved with his leash skills, but Remy still has a ways to go with leash manners.

Remy has not had other dogs in his foster home. With dogs outside of the home, he is very curious and always wanting to initiate play. He is generally good with other dogs he has met.  Remy has no exposure to cats.

Remy gets car sick when held on car rides. He seems to do best crated while in the car.

He is working towards independence, but cries when his foster parents are out of sight when in his crate (has been sleeping directly next to the bed at night, for example). Remy chews like a normal puppy but accepts re-direction.

Remy is well on his way to being potty-trained (when he is let out about every 2-3 hours), although he has an accident about every couple of days. He has really taken to learning commands - he can sit, lie down, and he is working on coming when called.

Remy’s mom had a DNA analysis showing 50% bull terrier, 25.1% chow chow, 8.1% American foxhound, 6.0% German shepherd, 10.8% supermutt. We do not know the breed of Remy’s dad. Take a look at the last photo above to see her Mama Seairah!
