Officially adopted on July 20, 2021!

After breakfast, Queenie likes to run around the yard to get her zoomies out. For the rest of the day Queenie likes to be by someone's side, either cuddling or chewing on a bone.

Queenie warmed up to us almost immediately. She is friendly, but mostly uninterested in people outside of the home.  She has no exposure to children in her foster home.

For the most part, Queenie is a bit of a couch potato. That said, she has spurts of puppy energy and is slightly overweight. She would require daily walks or time spent in a yard.

She is interested in other dogs and will play if the other dog initiates play. She also respects boundaries very well.

Queenie does like to stay at the end of her leash (as opposed to loose leash walking). She pulls a little, but definitely not as hard as she could. With work, she could learn to loose leash walk.

Queenie has not paid much attention to our cat at all. Our cat corrected Queenie for invading his space and Queenie immediately removed herself from the situation.

We kennel all of our dogs when we leave the house. Queenie enters her kennel without argument and whines minimally if she is crated, but can see us.

Queenie is being treated for Anaplasma with a round of antiobiotics. She does not show any active infection and treatment was a precaution. A dental is recommended within the next 1-2 years due to tartar accumulation. In the meantime, you can feed her dental treats to prevent any new tartar accumulation.

We've both worked in shelters and fostered for years. Queenie is one of the most special dogs we've met. If our dogs weren't old grumps, we would be adopting her.
