Updates

Piper wakes up with her foster family at 7:30 a.m. and goes for a quick walk before breakfast. After breakfast, Piper rests for a few hours and is taken out again at noon, and again around 5-6. Dinner is around 7, with one last trip outside before bed. In between, some good exercise is the key to Piper's success and relaxing calmly in her crate. Sometimes she whines if she feels alone. She’s a chill and happy dog.

Piper is amazing with adults and kids alike. She is very loving and great with all of them and doesn’t bark at anyone. She loves children! She will lick their face as well as cuddle. If a little excited, will jump up occasionally, but otherwise is very gentle.

Piper is medium energy. She just needs time to run or to go on longer walks. She does pretty well on a leash but can pull if she sees a dog or gets excited. She's met several, and does great with all other dogs. Just likes to play with them so will need training with your specific dog. She has not yet met cats.

When alone, Piper can get anxious and may high-pitch whine if she feels alone. She doesn't really bark at all which is awesome. She does well at night in a crate and doesn't whine.

Overall, Piper is sweet, good natured, and pretty quiet. She knows how to sit and is working on down. Just has a puppy, independent mind and needs training. She LOVES to go on walks! Piper did have entropion revision surgery while in her southern foster home. The stitches recently came out, and her eye has a tendency to get goopy. Our veterinarian has evaluated her eye, and no further intervention is needed at this time, but may need further treatment as she gets older.
