Hank is a quiet little love bug looking for his forever home where he will be loved and adored. Up until coming to rescue, he wasn’t always afforded that luxury. He was surrendered with mats so thick he could barely walk and exacerbating his arthritis. He is working on gaining some muscle in his legs now that he has more mobility without all those mats. He loves to be outside and enjoys his slow daily walks, but his favorite part is walking back home which is when he goes the fastest.

In his southern foster home, he loved to snuggle with other lower energy dogs or with humans. Hank can’t hear though so if other dogs aren’t wanting to cuddle, he’ll need a human to cue him in.

Hank wants to go up and say hello to everyone he meets. He has learned that butt scratches are the best and he will happily receive those from anyone.

After arriving in Wisconsin, Hank was diagnosed to be in the early stages of heart disease. At this early stage, no management or medication is indicated at this time, however annual cardiology appointments should be expected and additional care needed as Hank ages. Currently though - Hank doesn't let his heart disease or arthritis slow him down! He does have a tendency to overheat easily though, so it is best to not keep him outside too long especially when it’s warmer out.

If you’re looking for a low key best bud, Hank could be your guy!
