Pickles found her forever home on June 23, 2922!

Updates

At 6am she is given food and taken on a walk and again is taken on a walk around 7:30am, she is then either crated during the day until about 2:30 or is allowed to roam free while we are home. She goes on walks throughout the day while we are home they are short because she is so small and can only go so far. She is then fed again at 6pm and taken on a few more walks before she is crated for the night around 9pm.

She is shy around people at first however once she warms up to them she is a very sweet dog. Outside she tends to not pay much attention to people or dogs she sees. She has only met teens so far but has done great and is very nice.

She likes to play when she feels like it however she loves to just be by people and look out the window and lay on the couch. Outside she can have quite a bit of energy. She loves to run on the leash and when she sees a squirrel or chipmunk she gets pretty excited and wants to chase it, however she does a pretty good job at walking on the leash and doesn't really bark on leash. She is only six pounds, so even when she tries to chase something while on leash, she is easy to control. She needs to be walked with a harness because of her size. Walking her with just a collar and a leash can put a lot of strain on her delicate neck.

She does well with other dogs outside. She doesn't really care when she sees them however she will occasionally bark if she sees one when she is inside and a dog walks past.

Pickles has not had exposure to cats while in my care.

Pickles does well when left at home alone. We have been leaving her in a crate whenever we leave her alone.

Pickles is working on potty training and is doing very well.

Pickles was positive for Anaplasmosis, a tick-borne disease, in June but is not showing any clinical signs. A positive result for Anaplasmosis just indicates antibodies to this bacteria, not necessarily active infection. Per our rescue protocol, she is currently being given a round of antibiotics.

Pickles is a very cuddly dog and will love a home where she will get plenty of attention. She loves to sit with you on the couch and be pet.
