Updates

Perdita found her family on November 10, 2020!

PUPDATE 2

Perdita sleeps and naps hard but has a lot of energy especially in the afternoon and early evening. She takes slower walks in the morning and at noon - sniffing and stopping to greet all humans, dogs and leaves =).

We try to do some running on her evening walk and I think she’ll make a great jogging buddy. She is going to love running free in dog parks with the rest of her dog friends.

Typical of a puppy, she occasionally chews on things she shouldn’t and sometimes nips hands and sleeves. I’ve been working on redirecting her to chew toys and treats when this happens.

Perdita has been working hard on her crate and potty training skills! She has been several days now without an accident in the house and is doign okay with her crate. She is easy at night in the crate and usually spends sometime in her crate a few hours during the day.

PUPDATE 1

Perdita is a sound sleeper in her crate at night and needs one potty break in the middle of the night. She is happy to stay in her create while I get ready for the day. She loves to walk and does fairly well on a leash. She weaves a bit right in front of me but is learning to walk on one side. She takes a longer walk in the morning and evening a few short walks throughout the day as extensions of potty breaks.

She likes to sit and observe people from afar and then likes to meet everyone when they are closer and wiggles with excitement. She acts appropriately around both adults and kids. She is also very interested in meeting other dogs and loves to play with them. It’s her favorite thing to do.

She spends most of the day going between napping and playing with her chew toys.

After an evening walk and dinner, Perdita loves to cuddle. As soon as I sit down on the floor - she crawls right into my lap.

Would consider both crate and potty training in progress. She is totally fine at night in her crate, but howls a bit in her crate during the day - but seems to settle down after about 5 to 30 minutes. She always goes to the bathroom when taken outside but has still had a few accidents in the house.
