PUDPATE 2

Patches has continued to do well in our home. No accidents, quiet as can be in her crate and she is really picking up leash skills quickly. As she has become more comfortable, she has opened up quite a bit and her sweet personality is shining through. She is playful and loves to engage with her foster family.

PUPDATE 1

Patches and her amazing technicolor dreamcoat are ready to find her forever family. She is a little timid but SUPER sweet and she wiggled her way into our home and hearts in no time.

Patches is a pretty typical 4 month old puppy. She spends her days practicing crate training, playing with her foster siblings and emptying out the toy box. She loves meal times and hasn't minded sharing her kibbles with her foster sister. She plays hard but really loves to snuggle near the humans as the evening winds down.

Patches has met lots of new people. She is a little timid but her curiosity gets the best of her and she can't resist approaching to say hello. She is initially very submissive and will occasionally submissive urinate when she meets new people. Doing meetings outside has been sufficient to address this and as she gains confidence and better bladder control, this is likely to resolve. In her Texas foster home she lived with a three year old and did great. She also met three dog savvy kiddos (ages 2-7) and she was so sweet with them. She was so excited to see them (still submissive) and awkwardly play posed at them. She was a little nervous when they started running around but she settled in and would approach them for pets and kisses. She does jump up and will nip at pony tails when she gets excited, so she should be supervised with younger kids until she learns those boundaries.

She currently has three other pups in her foster home; two adult dogs and another puppy about her same age. She plays mostly with the other puppy and they play like typical pups. She wants to be friends with the adult dogs but they are less interested. She does need some help remembering to give them some space when she gets excited but overall she is pretty submissive with them and she does read the cues pretty well when they give her correction.

She has two kitties in her foster home and if you ask her, she would say the black and white kitty is her best friend in the whole wide world. She gets so excited and wants nothing more to play with the cat but Patches can get overzealous and does chase the cat so she splits pretty quick when Patches comes around. She does respond well to corrections from the cat. Based on my observations, I think she could live with a cat but would need supervised interaction and some correction from both felines and humans so she can learn those boundaries. Your cat would also likely have to be dog savvy and tolerant while she learns.

Patches is a medium energy pup. She does well with a few zips around the house with the other pups and some play time outside but settles in with toys or snuggles on the couch. She really loves to be outside in the yard, sniffing around and laying in the grass. She is still working on leash skills but is picking them up very quickly. She tends to hang back more than pulling but does get spooked at things sometimes. She does great in the car (crated).

Patches is crated when left alone. She is still a puppy and has tried chewing things like the boxes, charging cords, pieces of stuff she finds on the floor, etc so she will need to be supervised. She has done really well in her crate and can be crated away from me while I work up to four hours. Overnight she sleeps in the crate through the night without a break. She hasn't had any accidents since her first day here and has done great as long as she is kept on a schedule.

Patches has been a super fun and relatively easy pup to have in our home. She is sweet, affectionate and would be a great fit for just about any home.
