Updates

Officially adopted April 25, 2021!

Dottie wakes up in her crate once in the early morning hours to go potty and then snoozes until around 7 am in her dog bed. She eats breakfast around 7:30 am  and heads out to go potty and greet the day. She loves a morning walk to give a nod to the human neighbors and acknowledge their accompanying dogs with a jolly sniff and maybe a quick hug. She'll just sorta lay around inside or out and chew on veggie sticks, joy sticks or real sticks and stretch her belly out and roll in the grass waiting for a passing rub with short naps in between. This goes on in a cycle throughout the day finishing with dinner around 5:30 or 6 pm, a nice evening walk, chill out time til last call for potty and crate around 10:30 pm.

Dottie loves all people right away and everyone loves her, period. Watch her at bier gardens, parks, in line at Trader Joe's, and city streets because someone will try to steal her. She's that good.

She is pretty chill, especially for an 11-week-old. Like a calm but still curious old soul. She is up for anything or nothing at all. Loves to walk anywhere on leash and has never tired out but will race back inside when arriving back to home base.

Dottie is interested and willing to play with most dogs. She takes pause with large dogs but ultimately holds her own. No exposure to cats.

Between Dottie's start in a Free Puppy box at a Texas Dollar Store to her Texas foster and finally to her Midwest foster home, Dottie has certainly been exposed to many people and animals who must have all treated her with pure love and affection because Dottie is a sweet, caring, trusting dog who will win your heart immediately. She is a sponge of learning, soaking up something new and exciting every day. We look forward to her settling in soon to her furever home for fabulous new habits and routines. She looks like a puppy, but she acts much older. She loves to communicate with body language and facial expressions and has barked exactly twice in 5 days.

With Pandemic World, Dottie hasn't been left alone much but can be by herself at night in her crate or for naps in her restricted area. She has been limited to a pet safe zone in the kitchen/office and has been very happy and out of trouble. She'll cry a little if we all walk away when she's awake and alone.

Dottie is smart, very responsive, and eager to please. She loves learning commands and is close to mastering "sit", "come", "let's go", "shake", and loves to play fetch complete with the custom drop! If this sounds like your dream dog, please adopt her. Quick, before my husband quits adulting, buys an adventure van and heads for the hills with Dottie.

Dottie's Favorite Things

Raindrops on fresh mulch and whiskers on puppies
Bright sunny mornings and warm fuzzy blankies
Crinkle-y packages of blueberry rings
These are a few of her favorite things

Tall dogs and short dogs and cream-colored doodles
Walkies and talkies and snuggles with foodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of her favorite things

Kids in white dresses with kissable faces
Kind folks who walk round in uneven paces
Yummy Spring daylight that melts to evening
These are a few of her favorite things

Then a mean dog, or no food’s left
and she’s feeling sad
Dottie remembers her favorite things
And then life’s just so not bad
