PUPDATE 2
SPORTY SIDEKICK? CIRCUS DOG? TRUCK DRIVING BUDDY? AGILITY MASTER? CATTLE HERDER? PROFESSIONAL SNIFFER? THE NEXT ACT FOR AMERICA'S GOT TALENT?
SPORTY: Paris is up for anything anytime. She'll run, walk, hike, chase, fetch, play, wrestle, jump whenever you're ready.
CIRCUS: This dog just needs a clown nose and skirt to be the best thing in circus since striped tents and peanuts. She's up for any tricks you're ready to teach including but not limited to 'sit', 'shake', 'down', 'come', 'spin', 'up', and 'roll over'. Paris needs a new human who knows more tricks!
TRUCK: Paris loves a good car ride either keeping eye from the passenger seat or sacking out in the back.
AGILITY: She's the poster child for the Paris Pooch Park able to dash, hurdle, and climb anything you got.
HERDER: Paris will herd anything she loves - adults, kids, grandparents. If anyone is at risk of getting lost, Paris will guide you home!
SNIFFER: This girl has got one award-winning nose for sniffing out frogs, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, rabbit poop, and if you need any sort of eradication, this dog has got you covered!
TALENT: Along with tricks, I'm just guessing this dog could learn anything y'all put your mind to. Singing? Dancing? Magic? She's currently working on her 'up' into walking upright on her hind legs. Seriously.
Along with her many many talents, this dog is incredibly loyal, potty trained (doesn't go all that often), and sleeping soundly in her crate for 7 hours a night. We also crated her for 5 hours during the day and she was amazing, calming down almost immediately and keeping her blankets perfectly folded underneath her.
PUPDATE 1
Paris begins her day with a go-to attitude, getting up for breakfast around 6 and going for a long glorious walk. Paris will bounce around with us in the kitchen and office where she is gated while we kick off the day, preparing for work and school. Our sitter said she would spend 8 hours in her crate while they were away at work, but she spends her days with us hanging out and napping in her space, going on walks, or playing outside on tether, greeting the neighbor dogs, and chewing on tasty toys. She'll eat dinner at 6, followed by another long walk. The late evening is spent snuggling or nursing a pate-filled Kong, or lounging in a lap for movie night. She'll retire to her crate around 10 or 11 for a mostly quiet night of sleep.
Paris adores all people in the house and out. Not sure if she prefers people or dogs more, it's a close race. Paris has done great with our kids and our kids' friends ages 11-16. In typical puppy style, she is very jumpy and nippy if really excited.
Paris will walk with you anytime, anywhere and will never lose steam. We think she does best with 3-4 walks a day. She is quickly mastering leash training. She is absolutely nuts about walking on leash but tends to zig zag when walking away from home and tugs when walking toward home. She’s also doing great with house training - no accidents! She is one smart dog, learning tricks in under an hour, and can recall like a boss. When we are out on walks, she keeps her attention toward home, always. Even when we try to challenge her and walk further and further away with lots of turns, she is 100% on how to get back. This girl has energy to burn and brains to go places. I look forward to her being enrolled in training or agility classes to really harness her power and skills.
Paris thoroughly enjoys dogs and is able to read the room. She plays perfectly with well matched playmates, takes it easy on smaller, more timid pups, and uses caution with larger more aggressive creatures. Sitter said she did well with their cat.
Paris doesn't love being alone without her humans but will settle eventually. If she had her way, she would have all of her people in her room with her and has tried to round everyone up by barking or tugging on pant legs. A true herder at heart. She has not done much free roaming at our house but when we do have her loose she stays close. Paris loves shoes. If you do too, put yours somewhere safe. Paris would do best in an environment in which she has plenty of space indoors and out and things to do. She does tend to bark for attention, so a place without shared walls might be best.
Paris could spend all day learning tricks. She'll "sit" on command or while waiting for treats or food, she has an ambidextrous "shake", is picking up on "down", "spin", and "roll over". When she's in the mood, she can "fetch" like it’s her job.
