Nyla came to Fetch after being surrendered for repeatedly jumping fences to visit the neighbors. What we’re theorizing is Nyla was left unattended in the yard and went looking for human companionship — she is extremely bonded to her people. If you’re outside with her, she has no desires to wander off and in fact loves to follow you around the yard right at your side. I think she has excellent potential as an off-leash hiking partner and an all-night snuggler if that’s your idea of a good time!

She is currently living in a multi-dog household and doing just fine. She loves to chase other dogs, but would be very happy as the center of her humans’ world. She prefers the attention be all on her. She hasn’t shown a huge affinity for toy destroying in our home, and instead prefers to collect the toys in her favorite spot: a big, comfy dog bed. If ever our shoes are missing — they have also been found amongst her toy hoard. Never chewed, just relocated to where she thinks they belong! She has not met cats or children in her foster home.

Nyla is extremely treat motivated and very smart. She loves to learn! She doesn’t get anxious if separated from her people, she is just happiest near them and loves to greet you at the door if you’ve been away. She is perfectly crate and house trained in our home, but is used to opportunities to go outside every 4 hours or so. While Nyla will do anything for a treat, she prefers to wait to eat her daily food until the middle of the night in her crate. She is a much more reliable eater if you mix a couple treats into her food. She’s also a bit slow to trust new humans, but treats and patience are the way to her heart. Once you’re in her circle though, you are in for life!
