Stella is a three-year-old Plott Hound. She is a dark brown with lots of brindle and a small white patch on her chest. She is really smart and needs a lifestyle that challenges her physically and mentally. She has sooooo much energy although you wouldn't know it watching her laze around the house and carefully play with our kids. She is sweet and loves cuddling and affection. Stella has strong hound dog instincts and needs help taming and learning how to use them. She has escaped from our fenced yard dozens of times and she does not come to us when she is loose. We live in the dense Northwoods not too far from the Michigan border. This behavior has escalated and although she responds well to verbal commands in the house and yard we fear for her safety when she is running loose through the woods. She does pretty well on a leash, but can get hard to control if she spots or smells a wild animal. Stella is microchipped, current on all of her vet care and on flea/tick and heartworm preventions, she does well in a crate when we aren't home, she does well at doggy daycare but doesn't have much interaction with other dogs outside of that.
