Nicole found her furever family on October 12, 2020!
Nicole sleeps well in her crate all night and patiently waits for her humans to wake up and take her for her morning walk! Nicole eats breakfast after she gets home and normally spends some time playing with her rope toy or tennis ball. Mid-morning, Nicole generally settles in for a nap. She loves to nap by her humans who are working from home and will occasionally ask for belly rubs and some loving when she wakes up to switch nap locations. Nicole goes out for another short walk around noon, and then either independently plays with her toys or naps for the rest of the afternoon. Nicole eats dinner around 5 pm and then goes out for her evening adventure! Sometimes this is just a long walk and other days it is a trip to a dog-friendly brewery, a car ride to a lakefront park, or a playdate with another Fetch pup in the park. Nicole has loved going on outings with her fosters and can't wait to go on more with her forever family! Nicole enjoys hanging out and relaxing on the couch before she goes in her crate for the night around 9:30-10 pm.
Nicole has not met any children since she's been in foster care. Most of the time, Nicole is eager to meet anybody she runs into and will approach them asking for sniffs and pets. There have been a couple of people Nicole has met that she is a little bit unsure about at first. However, after a slower introduction she has always warmed up to them within a couple of minutes. Nicole is a total people-pleaser and just wants to love and be loved by her humans!
She loves her walks and spending time outside! Nicole does well with two 30-45 minute walks and one 15-20 minute walk each day. Sometimes in the middle of the afternoon she'll get a burst of energy and will want to chase after a tennis ball or play fetch with her rope toy. But otherwise Nicole is happy to hang out, nap and cuddle. Nicole does well walking (and running) on her leash. She will occasionally get distracted by another dog or a squirrel, but she can pretty easily be redirected with a little encouragement.
Nicole does great with other dogs! She always seems interested in playing with whatever dogs she meets. Nicole has made good friends with some other fetch pups and alums! I don't think Nicole would do as well in a forever home with a cat. Nicole frequently tries to chase our resident cat, and she plays a little too rough for the cat's comfort.
This little lady does seem to get a little bit nervous when left alone. She barks and whines when left in her crate and might have some separation anxiety. However, I think with some consistency, trust building and TLC from her forever family, she could learn that her crate is a safe place to be when her people aren't around!
Nicole is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. She gives her humans so much love, and just asks for a belly rub or two in return. Nicole is a smart cookie, who has quickly caught on to several commands, and has easily adapted to her foster home. Nicole would do great with an active family that is ready to shower this sweet girl with love!
