Adopted September 25, 2020!

Neena will wait patiently in her crate until we let her out and feed her. This is usually around 7:30am. She will let us sleep in on the weekends! If she needs to go outside while crated, she will start to make noises and eventually will bark if you haven't gotten up to let her out. Neena likes to be inside when it's rainy and chilly. She doesn't like to be alone, so usually enjoys the outdoors only if we are outside with her or if the neighbor's dog is outside. She loves to run and gets the "zoomies" in the morning. Neena will sit at whatever door you let her out for her potty duties when she has to go. She hasn't had any accidents in the house. Neena was introduced to our foster cat and was VERY respectful of her boundaries. She didn't chase her, bark at her, and let the cat dictate their interactions. When the cat ran once, she did go after her, but stopped when the cat went downstairs. Neena knows she isn't allowed in the basement.

This girl loves everyone! She is slow to warm up and will need some reassurance from her "safe" person. Once she's warmed up, she loves to lick those she loves. She will also follow her "safe" person around the house until she starts feeling more secure. She still follows her foster mom around after one week.

She lives halftime with children ages 5, 5, 7, and 8. She lives with a 15-year-old full time. She does well with the children as long as they've allowed her to come to them initially and not get right up in her face. She will growl when she is not liking their attention or behavior.

Neena walks well on a leash. She loves to run in the backyard and with the neighbor dog. I think she'd enjoy a good run with her family! She is also fine with just relaxing and napping. She doesn't like the rain, cold, wind, etc.

She lived with at least one other dog, her brother. Her last foster home in Texas had a resident dog as well. She loves one of our neighbor's dogs and likes to run the fence line with him. She met two other dogs and was good with them. She wanted to play. Neena would likely do great with a dog friendly cat. Our cat is not friendly to any other animals but has liked Neena the best out of all of the foster dogs we've had.

Neena is crated when left alone. I turn on some delta waves on the Echo and leave her with a Kong treat toy with peanut butter or another chew toy. She isn't left alone often or for long. Foster mom is retired and home often.

Neena truly is the sweetest girl! She has been our favorite foster dog so far. The Texas foster home sent a sheet for you to read about her there and you'll receive one from us as well. If you love a snuggly dog that loves to give kisses, Neena is your girl!
