Mopsy is the sweetest little mop of fur who is the perfect mix of fun and snuggles. True to her terrier nature, she loves exploring when she’s outdoors and is a very busy little girl, investigating all the smells. If we go for an off-leash walk, she likes to wander off into the grass to explore smells but she never goes too far. She also walks great on a leash. She loves to play with toys and balls, and will throw them up in the air for herself and catch them when they fall down. Her energy is pretty short lived though; usually only for about 20 minutes. When she comes indoors, she goes right to the couch or to her crate to go to sleep. She absolutely loves to cuddle and if I’m sitting down, she will get right on top of me to snuggle up. She loves it when I pick her up and cradle her like a baby and tell her how cute she is.
Mopsy was a little shy at first but she bonded to me very quickly, in less than a day. She will wag her tail at strangers but will shy away if they reach for her. She will usually come up to them if they get down to her level. She absolutely loves treats and those will win her heart over in an instant.
Mopsy has not met any children while in my care.
Mopsy lives with several other dogs and she peacefully coexists with them but doesn’t seem to know how to play with them. They tried to play with her at first, but since she didn’t reciprocate they now mostly ignore each other. She has no trouble sharing a food dish with the other dogs and sleeping with them on the couch. She will bark at strange dogs passing by the yard, but stops immediately when I tell her to be quiet.
Mopsy does great with cats - they just ignore each other.
Mopsy wasn’t completely potty trained when she came to me, so I crate her at night and during the day if I leave the house. She loves her crate and will often go in there on her own with the door open. She’s gone a few weeks now without a potty accident so I could probably start leaving her out to free roam, since she never gets into anything she shouldn’t.
Mopsy has been the easiest dog to foster. She gets along with everyone and hardly ever barks. I would love to keep her, but I think she’d be happier in a home with more people and fewer dogs. She really loves human attention and she can get pushed aside by the bigger, bossier dogs in my house. Don’t be deterred if she’s shy the first time you meet her, because I can promise that within 24 hours (probably sooner) she will be your little shadow!
