There are two ways I can sum up my high praise for Boone:

1. We adore our resident pup. Boone is practically his clone.

2. If we were looking to adopt a second dog (we're not!), Boone would be it.

Boone just adores any and all people — I think his first love in life is people. A close second is dogs. He is incredibly playful and friendly and non-reactive. I don't know what it would take for Boone to get in a scuffle. He is mostly house-trained and crate trained (see below) and fully potty trained. He's a fairly high-energy young dog and will need a forever home that lets him get his wiggles out through walking, running, or playing (we can't take foster dogs to the park, but I suspect he'll make an awesome dog park dog, as he's been great with the resident pup and friends' dogs who have come to play in our yard). As long as he gets his exercise, he's content to chew a toy by himself or cuddle up on the couch for hours. Boone will make a fantastic dog for anyone who is looking for a four-legged companion to keep them active and who wants a friendly, social dog in their lives!

There are just a few things Boone is working on, but they're all pretty minor and Boone is so eager to please that he will learn if they're addressed consistently. For example, if I leave socks or slippers on the floor, they mysteriously end up somewhere I didn't leave them (never chewed, just moved). Because of his typical young pup mischievousness, we crate him at night and when we're gone during the day. He still protests his crate a little, and he will occasionally howl during the day because he wants to get out and play, but he is overall a pretty quiet dog. He's also working on leash manners. He tries to greet everyone, so we're working on waiting until people choose to come to him. He also likes pulling when he sees a squirrel. In general he's pretty easy to walk though.
