Meet the cute and sweet little girl named Minnie. She is good natured, playful, has a fluffy coat and low energy. She is a Texas girl and has been in foster care almost all her life, some of it in Texas and some here. She is a happy and curious girl who adapted to our house in just a few days.

Minnie sleeps through the night in her crate and keeps her kennel clean. She also spends about 5 to 6 hours in the crate during the day when we are not at home. She is doing an awesome job with potty training for her young age, but we watch her closely and take her outside regularly.

Her favorite activity is to chase her tail and most of the time she succeeds. She also plays and wrestles with the resident dog, a 45 lbs Border Collie. She loves to ride in the car, usually cuddling on someone's lap and napping. She knows sit and comes when called.

In her foster home she lives with two adults, two boys ages 16 and 14, a cat and a resident dog. We take her with us everywhere we go for walks or hikes and everyone complements us on how cute and sweet she is when she goes up to people to say hello.

Minnie has shown signs of resource guarding (bearing of teeth, low growling, trying to bite) when people try to take away her toys or treasures. We are using positive reinforcement (we trade her a treat) to alter this behavior and she is eager to learn. Being very young and food motivated she has already made progress. This is the reason why we recommend that she doesn't go to a home with small children. She gives the sweetest hugs the rest of the time.

Minnie is looking for a forever family who can take the time to train her and help her be the great pup that she can be. Would that be you?
