Although he's a Siberian Husky in many ways, Mishka is quiet until he's super excited! He starts his day off silently in his crate until he's let out around 6:30am to go out to potty in the backyard. He comes in, eats his breakfast, and plays with his foster brothers until his morning walk (about 15 minutes) and then back in his crate for a few hours while foster mom works. He gets to go out at noon in the backyard for a stretch and potty break, then comes in and eats lunch (he needs to gain a few pounds), and snoozes in the afternoon. By around 4pm, Mishka gets another quick walk and then LOTS of backyard or indoor tug of war, chase, and fetch. He settles in for dinner and then nighttime snuggles with his humans until about 9:30pm when he goes in his crate for bed!

Mishka absolutely adores people. He's a real ham and uses his ice blue eyes and adorable ears to talk you into constant pets and scratches. He can be shy with people at first, but he warms up quickly! By his second night in his foster home, he was rolling over for belly rubs!

Although Mishka loves humans, he's very strong and sometimes clumsy, so he lives with humans that are teenagers or older.

True to his breed, Mishka has spurts of high energy and periods of sluggishness. He is very responsive to the energy around him; when his people and doggie friends are resting, he's either resting or chewing on a toy. When everyone is excited or loud, he's ready to play! He often gets so excited when doors open that it's time to play or run that he tries to bolt. We're working on "wait" to help him learn when it's time to go and when it's not.

Despite his responsiveness, Mishka will definitely need a walk or two and plenty of playtime and attention at the minimum each day. He is SO SMART that, without the necessary exercise or mental stimulation, he could definitely get naughty trying to meet his needs.

Mishka does wonderfully with submissive dogs but will challenge dominant dogs. He always backs down, but he definitely will push buttons of dogs who are easily triggered. Mishka has one foster brother who loves to play and wrestle; Mishka listens to his cues and gives space when needed. Mishka's other foster brother is more sensitive and likes to be the boss. When Mishka sees that he's gotten a rise out of this foster brother, he keeps pushing because he thinks brother is playing. Mishka eventually gives up, but he would do well in a home with a dog who loves to play regardless of size!

Mishka should live in a home without cats.

When he must be home alone, Mishka hangs out in his crate. He settles down on his bed quickly and even eats some of his food while he's in there. Otherwise, he just naps!

Mishka is the sweetest, smartest dog we've ever fostered! He will need a structured home with plenty of love and affection. He loves jogging and playing, snuggles and belly rubs, and any opportunity to learn something new. If you love snuggles and happiness, you'll love this guy!
