Meet Millie 🐾
Millie is a beautiful 5-year-old female Catahoula Leopard Dog mix weighing about 80 pounds. She is spayed, healthy, and fully up to date on vaccinations. This rehoming decision has been incredibly difficult and is not being made lightly — Millie is deeply loved, and we are committed to finding the right home for her.
Millie is a smart, loyal girl with a big personality. She thrives in a home with a fenced-in yard, where she can stretch her legs and keep an eye on her surroundings — she takes her job as an excellent watchdog very seriously. She loves toys, especially puzzle and enrichment toys that make her work for a reward, and when playtime is over, she’s happiest curled up on the couch as a total pillow hog.
She can be a bit aloof with new people at first, but with a little time she warms up nicely. Millie is currently living with another dog (a pit mix) and does well with her, though her compatibility with other dogs is unknown. Due to a high prey drive, she would not be a good fit for a home with cats.
Millie has no bite history, but she can be reactive to the high energy of small children and becomes very focused and intense around them. Because of this, we believe she would do best in a home with older children or teens, or an adult-only household that can appreciate her intelligence and need for structure.
A day in the life with Millie:
Millie starts her day by waking up and enjoying some time outside, followed by breakfast. She usually plays a bit with the dog she’s currently living with, then settles in for couch or bed snuggles. In the early afternoon, she enjoys a walk or a car ride, then eats dinner and spends the rest of the evening relaxed and content.
Millie is a wonderful dog who deserves a home that matches her needs and energy. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a smart problem-solver, and a devoted couch buddy, Millie may be the perfect fit.
