Updates

Maya eats breakfast and spends a little time in our yard before we go to work in the morning. She free roams in the house while we are away, and then spends time inside with us and two other dogs in the afternoon after going on a walk. She likes to sleep inside, but not in a crate.

Maya has done well with all the people we have introduced her to, but she does not stay interested for too long. She doesn’t love being pet too much, and is a pretty independent dog that prefers having some space rather than needing constant attention.

She has not had exposure to children while I’ve been fostering her.

Maya walks well on a leash and loves going on walks where she can go on the grass and sniff around. She does not need very long walks, just enough to get outside for a bit. The rest of the day she loves to cross her paws and take naps around the house.

Maya gets along well with her two foster dog brothers but doesn’t have much interest in playing with either of them. She has not had exposure to cats while I’ve been fostering her.

Maya is a pretty independent gal - she’ll come greet you when you get home but is fine spending time on her own. She can get into things like treats or the recycling bin on occasion if left within easy reach when unsupervised.

As an older dog, we suspect she has a little bit of joint stiffness and arthritis, so she takes glucosamine supplements. Maya does have some tartar accumulation present, and may benefit from a dental in the future. A dental may be recommended within the next 6-12 months.
