Updates

Foxy found her forever home October 5, 2021!

PUPDATE 2

Foxy is doing great! She is currently around a 4 year old and a 6 year old every day and loves them. She will sometimes chase them, trying to play, but quickly corrects when told “no.” With supervision, she is ok for younger kids, but I wouldn’t go much younger than ours.

She has not had any accidents and has even gone towards the door when she needs to go outside. We work for 9.5 hours a day, and she is super good during that time! No more accidents!

She has been in the kennel when we are not home, however she slept out of the kennel (in an enclosed room) last night and did GREAT! She is a great runner, and we are working on “leave it” for other people, rabbits, dogs, etc. that we come across. When running she is great at “leave it” but when walking she needs a few more reminders.

With very slow introductions she has done well with our two large dogs, under constant supervision. She gets a bit wild when playing sometimes, but will stop when told to do so.

Holy buckets does she love to run! We run half a mile in the morning, and another couple miles at night. She could go forever! She also really loves puzzle toys, learning new tricks, and playing with other dogs. She has learned that the cats are not good to chase, but I will still sometimes try. I am not mean, and I don’t bite, I just want to run!

She is very mouthy, and She is working to not do this anymore. She needs someone that is willing to work with me on this.

PUPDATE 1

Right now a typical day involves a morning outing with our resident dogs, kennel time, more time out with our dogs, dinner, kennel, and then more time playing outside. Foxy will be going to daycare soon to get out some of that Heeler energy!

Foxy LOVES people. She can get mouthy when excited but does well with a command and redirect. She now knows to sit when she wants pets, it's adorable!

She has no exposure to children. I would guess she may be mouthy when excited and/or try to herd them. She would likely do best with older children.

Foxy is a high energy Heeler. She would love an active family who can take her on walks and runs. She pulls a bit on leash but does well with her halti and harness.

Foxy can be a bit of an alpha female when it comes to other dogs. She does well with other submissive dogs (50 lb husky) but is still learning how to read other pup's cues. She has been steadily improving with our resident anxious pup!

She seems to do okay with cats. She has chased our cats but with a little bit of training I'm sure she would understand that that's not something that should be done.

Foxy will cry for a little bit when first placed in her kennel but settles in quickly after we leave. We do not let her free roam; she may have an accident if she is left unsupervised as she is still learning that outside is the ideal potty place.

She is such a sweetie! She can give you the sweetest looks and when riding in the car she will come up and lick your cheek. It is the cutest! She will make a family very happy!
