PUPDATE 2
With each day, Martin is becoming more fearless. He is still weary of other dogs that he just meets, but has started initiating to play with other dogs. Martin would love to have a brother/sister (animal or human) at home to play with. Martin has been working on his potty training. He now signals(and has tells) which lets us know when he needs to use the bathroom. This has limited accidents to only ~1/day. Martin's list of commands keeps growing. In addition to sit, shake, and crate, he is learning to wait, drop, lay down, and speak on command. Martin loves to be outside and is very interested in all the smells. We have started going on long walks, but he is still getting comfortable walking with a leash.
PUPDATE 1
Martin wakes up between 7-8 am and waits patiently for his foster parents to take him out of the crate. He then goes potty straight away before enjoying his breakfast and playtime. On average, Martin spends about two hours out of the crate followed by an hour in the crate. Martin is put to bed around 10 pm, where he sleeps quietly for the rest of the night.
Martin is very curious of people that he sees outside. He alters between being really excited to meet them and being a little skittish. However, once he has warmed up to the person, he loves the attention that he gets.
Martin is a high-energy pup. He would play all day if you let him. His favorite things to do are play tug-of-war, fetch, and run around. Martin does well on a leash for his age. As of now, he is not interested in going on long walks. He prefers to run back inside after he potties.
Martin is very intrigued by dogs he sees outside. Martin would prefer to observe the dog first before joining in play. Once he realizes it is safe, he has a lot of fun playing with other dogs and doesn't want to leave.
Martin is crated when left alone. He will whine at first, but will quickly settle down for a nap. We make sure to include a couple of his favorite toys in his crate, which keeps him occupied for the most part.
As a typical pup, Martin is happy to chew on things he shouldn’t and needs to be supervised and not left alone to roam the house.
Martin has a bunch of personality! He is very vocal, and will let you know if he is not happy or wants something from you. He currently is being fostered in an apartment but because of how vocal he is, he may not be the best fit for living in a space with shared walls long-term.
Martin is a very smart pup. He has already started to pick up on the commands sit, shake, and crate. Martin is also very curious. He will follow you around all day to see what you are doing. He will also bravely investigate anything unfamiliar to him. Martin is still being potty trained, but does really well with frequent bathroom breaks. Martin is not much of a snuggler, but he does show his love with kisses.
