Little Marcie found her furever family on November 15, 2020!

PUDPATE 2

Belly rubs, snuggles and zoomies are my top three activities right now. I love chasing my orange stuffed ball around and my foster mom keeps telling me I have the cutest play bow. I am learning the commands "down" and "stay". My leash walk is getting better everyday. My nose work is excellent, if it is there, I will find it, so my foster mom has been using treats to keep me going on my walk. Why can't I just stop and smell the roses? I'm a smart sassy poochie looking for her furever home, prefer someone who likes cuddles, playing and having a best friend by their side. I've been told I would be a great addition to any dog family and I do love kids if you have any. Smoochies- Marcie

PUPDATE 1

Marcie sleeps through the night and wakes up around 6am. She is potty trained and goes outside right after she wakes up. Marcie has learned to stand by the door to indicate she needs to go outside. Marcie enjoys a scrumptious breakfast, play time and then she will cozy up to her human for a nap, then repeats. Marcie enjoys her chew toys; buffalo horns are her favorite go to. She gets a lot of loving and petting throughout the day and truly enjoys her humans. Marcie typically has one playdate with another pup during the day and she enjoys the interaction and the play time. She has also learned to independently play and entertain herself while her humans are busy working.

She calmly greets all people that she meets. Marcie is a low-medium energy pup with a loving and playful personality. Marcie wags her tail and calmly approaches people. She wants everyone to pet her and she is learning "down". Marcie is easily redirected and highly motivated to please people, so with positive reinforcement she immediately will sit.

Marcie is a low-medium energy pup. She has a nose and loves to use it. While on leash she likes to try to wander in her own direction, but with treats and positive affirmation she is learning heal and has continued to get better over time. Marcie is still at a stage where she naps for most of the day, she goes on three short walks throughout the day and has some playtime in between. Marcie's favorite outside activity is sitting in the front yard on her lead and watching people go by. She calmly sits and sees dogs, people and cars. So far, Marcie has not found her voice, she does not bark.

She has not been exposed to cats. Marcie has played with several other dogs, all of them bigger than her. Some of them are still puppies to dogs that are seniors. Marcie is at first timid and lets them sniff her. Once Marcie has been able to "read" the situation, she will slowly engage in play. Once she is comfortable, she loves a good game of chase where she can hide under something. She will come out from the hiding spot, engage with the dog who will chase after her as she runs back to hide, then repeats.

Marcie does great when left alone in our sunroom if we are gone for a couple of hours. If we are gone longer, we put her in her crate. She prefers to be able to "hang out" in the sunroom and has had no issues. She entertains herself with toys and enjoys napping.

Marcie is an extremely smart pup, calm and aware of her surroundings. She enjoys cuddling and just hanging out by herself chewing a bone. She likes to be in the same room as her "people” but does not feel the need to be right next to them.
