Mama found her home April 26!

PUPDATE 3

Seairah continues to gain confidence and learn each day. She is great on leash both walking and slow/short runs so far. While bikes startle her, she's been practicing watching them go by. She has no leash aggression toward people or dogs but is really interested in hunting squirrels and rabbits. Her inside the house manners are excellent. She knows “sit” and “down” confidently. Enjoys belly rubs and a daily stuffy toy toss around.

PUPDATE 2

Seairah is doing great on leash and has done 4-5 mile walks and 2 mile runs with me. She is not leash reactive to other dogs or humans but seems to be afraid of bikes so we are working on that.

Since she has had a few weeks away now from being mama, she gets to be puppy like herself sometimes. She self-entertains tossing her stuffie toys and gets the zoomies which is pretty hilarious. She wants my 12 year old lab to play with her but he looks at her like she's crazy. So often she will lay down by him. She is one of the most affectionate fosters I have had.

She's smart and knows the household routines well. She is solid on knowing commands like “down” and “sit”. She can be left alone with no issues of chewing or barking, as long as she's not watching out the window.

PUPDATE 1

Mama Seairah prefers human beds, followed by dog begs and sleeps a fair amount during the day. She free roams when I am not home with my 12-year-old lab with no issues. She eats around 6 am and 5 pm. Mama Seairah is doing short walks as she recovers from her spay surgery with no issues. Once her teats shrink, she might be a good running buddy.  She has a great gait and likes to be on leash.

Seairah is learning to trust that I only introduce her to safe humans. She is not confident and happy go lucky yet.  She has been making great progress with time.

I have kept Seairah on leash around the children who have visited her puppies. There were no issues but I wanted to be extra careful. She will sniff and back away from all new people, including children.

Mama Seairah is old enough to be chill and young enough to be FUN! She is becoming more playful as she is no longer parenting, and her body is healing. She likes stuffy toys and will even fetch some.

Seairah seems fine with the dogs she has met both at my house and on leash. I have been extremely careful as she has been vulnerable from hugely pregnant to recovering from surgery.  Mama Seairah has not met a cat in her foster home.

When I first leave, I can hear some pawing at the door but there are no marks.  When I return, she's typically asleep in a human's bed or on the couch.  She sleeps while we are away as far as I know.

Mama Seairah is SUPER LOVING but needs someone who will bond with her and help her confidence grow. It is obvious that she was not always treated kindly as she shrinks and shivers with loud noises. She is smart. Now that the puppies are weaned, we have started on basic training. She is solid in her understanding of “sit” but will submissively lay down usually.

Mama Seairah’s DNA analysis revealed: 50% bull terrier, 25.1% chow chow, 8.1% American foxhound, 6.0% German shepherd, 10.8% supermutt
