Maksym, Maks for short, is such a hunk, a hunk of burning love that we should just go ahead and change his name to Elvis. If you're looking for a sweet, playful yet honestly pretty laidback puppy, this might just be your guy!
Maksym wakes up between 6-7am, heads outside for potty break and then back in for breakfast. Most of the day is a rotation playtime, snuggles, chilling in his kennel space, eating and going outside. Maks is most happy when he can lay in a soft doggie bed with a few toys and drift between naps and chewing toys. He spends a good chunk of his day doing just that. He came into foster care with a good head start on kennel training and potty training. If he does whine when he goes in his kennel, it is brief. He loves a little quiet, calming music too. He is really catching on to potty training....not perfect yet at 2mos, but he really prefers going outside.
After dinner, exercise and playtime, Maksym usually reaches a point where he's ready for a little snuggle time on your lap. He has the softest belly and some pretty great puppy breath. He can really sack out for a good couple hours...perfect for an evening movie snuggle. We go out one last time and then into the kennel for bed around 10:30/11pm.
He has had the chance to meet people both inside our home and in the neighborhood. He has enjoyed saying hello to all and greets them all with a super impressive full body butt wiggle.
Maksym still has typical puppy behaviors such as jumping up and mouthing, but he has done well with kids. He lives with 3 children and has met several children over the age of 7.
Of course, all puppies need lots of exercise and Maks is not immune to getting puppy zoomies. But overall he is a pretty chill guy, especially for a puppy. After breakfast, we usually start each day with a 10-15 minute walk around the block. He is excellent at following our big dog around for walks in the neighborhood. If he has someone to follow, he's happy to walk just about as long as you want. He loses motivation on walks by himself and sometimes just lays down for a break. He also likes to head out to the backyard for puppy playtime a couple times a day. We have started working on basic commands such as sit and look. He loves toys and exploring the smells of spring in the yard. He is NOT a fan of the cold...and who can blame him. When hanging out in his puppy kennel enclosure, he is happy to entertain himself with toys keeping a quiet eye on the rest of us.
Maksym enjoys our resident dog immensely. He follows him around like a big brother. He has said quick hellos to neighborhood dogs as well. All tail wags so far!
Maksym lives with 3 cats. He sometimes notices them and sometimes ignores them, but has only been mildly curious so far.
