Maeve found her people on January 7, 2021!

Maeve wakes between 5:30 and 7:30 am to snuggle and greet the day. She is still young and working on figuring out her ideal schedule. But if she is up early to go potty, she is thrilled to cuddle and snooze til breakfast. She eats around 7 am and then goes outside to play, or walk, or see other neighbor pups. She goes potty like clockwork. She'll play with us for an hour or so and then crash again or chew on her toys (loves anything small enough to grab in her tiny mouth - squeaker is a huge bonus) for the next couple hours. Around noon she'll do it all over again with a light lunch, walk or outside to play and then dive into her bed or a beanbag chair to nap again. Dinner is around 5 pm followed by outside time with a routine poop, then playing and snoozing.

Maeve is a lover. If she has one fault, it's that she loves her humans so much and would love life if there was always one by her side. We're working on separation but she's so darn soft and sweet and cute and snuggly that we're as hard pressed as she is to be apart.

She is perfect with children. Her foster family includes a 17yo, a 15yo and a 10yo and she's a wonderful playmate and chillaxer with all of us. She'll snuggle in on anyone's lap and is the sweetest, softest, quietest baby dog we've had (she's our 7th this year!) Believe you me, she is the ideal dog that we would ab-so-lute-ly keep if we were cut out for a furry forever friend.

Maevy loves the snow. She adores walking outside and meeting the neighbors and their dogs and then when we get close to home, she races to the back door. She's happy with whatever she's doing. She prefers to be off leash but if she knows which direction she's supposed to be walking, she does well on leash. She is calm and patient at feeding time, eats slowly and enjoys every treat we've given her. She can play a mean game of fetch and really likes to put her toys in a pile. Herding breed?

Baby Maeve was great in her birth home with other dogs and has enjoyed her nose touches with the neighbor dogs.  She has no exposure to cats.

Maeve is getting there with self-soothing. Truth be told, with the pandemic, someone is almost always around at her foster home. She usually does good in her crate for ~5 hours at night and once she's snoozing, she's fine napping all alone anywhere in her gated area. If we leave the room and she's wide awake, it'll take her a little time to settle down.

Maeve has a grade 1-2 heart murmur representing some element of heart disease. It’s recommended that adopters discuss the condition with their veterinarian prior to adoption. Depending on the cause of the murmur, she may still grow out of it or she may always have the murmur.

We can't think of anything Maevy Gravy needs except a loving home with dog people. Shouldn't be hard to find in this group :) She was born in a fabulous home here in Madison surrounded by great energy and a laid-back attitude. She went from an open bowl feeding system to eating 3x a day seamlessly and transitioned nicely to being an only dog household. I think us humans are probably taking the place of the siblings she left on December 23. She does like the attention and I guarantee she is one of the softest baby dogs you'll ever pet. If she follows in her mom Annie's footsteps, she'll be a calm sweet dog ready to blend in wherever she lands.
