Updates

Meet Lilly! This snuggly doll face with her big ol' pitty smile and kissable snout is too precious for words. She is very well behaved, can't be close enough to her people and her loud snores are almost too much to handle.

Lilly is a very typical 5 month old puppy. She spends her days practicing crate training, playing and exploring outside, emptying out the toy box, playing chase with her foster siblings and taking long naps on the couch with her canine friends as the evening winds down. She is a sweet and affectionate gal that loves to snuggle with her people.

Lilly has been doing great with potty training. She hasn't had any accidents in the week she has been here with us and signals by whining if she needs to go out while she is in the crate. She is figuring out crate training and settles in fairly quickly in the crate, especially with a frozen kong or chew treat to work on. She is crated in an adjacent room while I work and stays pretty quiet unless she has to go potty. She is crated for 3-4 hours at a time with a long break at lunch and does well with that schedule. Overnight, she sleeps in the crate across the bedroom from me and settles in very quickly. She sleeps through the night (7 hours) without breaks unless she has an upset tummy.

Lilly is a friendly little lady that loves meeting new people. She settled in very quickly with her foster folks and readily approached several people on walks, at the pet store and at the vet clinic for pets. While she doesn't have kids in her current foster home, she did live with two kids (ages 8 and 14) in her foster home in Louisiana for about a month and she did great with them. She loved playing soccer with them, though was noted to be a bit of a ball hog. She also met three dog-savvy kiddos (ages 3-9) and did great. She was comfortable with them running around in the yard and absolutely loved playing tug with them. She can jump up/get a little mouthy from time to time when excited so would need supervision with young kids until she learns those boundaries but would love some kiddos to run around with. She did great as my sidekick running errands for an afternoon with stops to the pet store, Starbucks, and getting an oil change. She curled up great on the front seat and was very polite while waiting for our order to be ready and the mechanics to finish with the oil change.

She currently has two adult dogs in her foster home and two puppy playmates. Lilly LOVES dog friends and having pals to run around with. She loves playing chase and wrestling with pals and does pretty well reading other dogs' cues. She warmed up quickly to her new friends and does great sharing toys and eating spaces.

Lilly does have two kitties in her foster home. She has approached the cats when they make an appearance and is interested in saying hello but has done well redirecting if needed. She would likely do fine in a home with cats but as always, we suggest slow introductions to new animal friends as all cats and environments can be different.

Lilly gets most of her energy out playing with toys, sniffing around the yard and playing with the other pups in her foster home. She is a medium energy gal that likes long naps after play time. She walks fairly well on leash but does pull when she gets excited (squirrels, sees other dogs, etc). She will bark a hello sometimes when she spots other dogs on leash but otherwise does well. She is very food motivated and picks up training quickly. She already knows the commands sit, down, and stay and is eager to learn more! She is also the first pup to come running when we call the dogs in from outside.

Lilly is still a curious puppy so we crate her when we leave to avoid her finding shoes, cords or rugs to chew on. She settles in pretty quickly when crated especially with a treat for her to focus on. She hasn't been too vocal so may do well in an apartment without breed restrictions.

We have loved having this precious girl in our home and can't wait to find her a forever family that will spoil her rotten.
