Updates
Linda gets up when I do, which can range from 5-7am. She will go outside, come in and eat and then play for a while with her sister and then go back outside before I start my work day at my in home office. She stays in her puppy pen upstairs with her sister, Connie, while I work. I will let her out every couple of hours throughout the day, feed her lunch, give her some play time and then return to work for the afternoon and let her out a couple more times. Around 5pm, I end my workday and then I let the dogs out, feed them dinner and then it is play time for the evening before she tires out for a nap around 8pm. We go out before bed around 10:30-11:30 and then she goes in her crate for the night and sleeps until the alarm goes off in the morning.
She doesn't bark much, but when she sees you and she is in her crate, she is very vocal as well as at feeding time when she is impatiently waiting for her food, like a typical puppy. She will bark with excitement until you set her food down.
Linda does well with people and has met a few that have come over, but has not met people outside, other than at the vet, where she did well. She is calm when meeting new people and will stick around for a good pet!
Linda has only met a couple young children at Halloween while I was handing out candy and she did well letting them pet her.
Linda has a good amount of energy, but with a few opportunities to play with another dog, run around a yard or take a walk or two each day, I think she would be very content. She takes several naps throughout the day, especially after playing hard with her sister.
Linda has only met my resident dogs who are 45 and 80 lbs. She does well with my larger dog, who is very easy going and sweet, but she is unsure of my other dog who wants to be the alpha and engages through barking. Linda will try to engage, but it ends up being a barking match, so she stays away from her for now. I suspect with a little more time, they would learn to play together, but for now they sniff each other and have no problem walking around together, Linda just get scared when my dog initiates play through barking.
She has not been around cats since I have had her.
Linda settles down quickly in her crate when I put her in there to leave and is quiet when I return until I walk in the door and then she barks until she sees me. She has been alone for only a couple hours at a time since she has been with me.
Linda is a typical puppy and chews on things she shouldn't, but is easily redirected to toys. Given her age, we haven’t really done a lot of leash walking, so she’ll need to continue working on her manners when walking on leash as she gets older. She is doing well with potty training with regular reminders and if you can read her signals quickly.
Linda is a bit sassy and stubborn and needs an owner who will be the leader and not let her be the boss. She is very food motivated and is smart. She knows “sit,” “no,” and is working on “off.” She loves a belly rub and to snuggle. She is very affectionate and loves to play. She is a little wiggle butt!
