Lili is all set and found her family on August 15, 2020!

Diamond in the Ruff alert!  Sweet girl, Lili is seeking a forever family that will help polish her up to the bright, shining pup she is meant to be.

Lili spent the first 4 months of her life living in a yard and roaming with her littermates so she is still learning what it means to be an inside pup.  She has been doing great with us in our home and is picking up inside dog rules very quickly.  She has done really well with potty training, crate training and learning that puppy toys are fun.  She is also smart as a whip and is learning basic obedience cues very quickly.

During the day when I work. Lili is crated for four hours, gets a 30-45 minute break to play in the yard and then is crated again for another four hours.  She does well with this routine and settles in quickly in the crate.  She has also started attending day care at Dog Dog daycare and has done well there with making new human and puppy friends.  She spends the evenings playing in the yard with the other pups, getting pets and belly rubs from the humans and spending some time training.

Lili has done well with the other pups in her foster home.  She hasn't spent a lot of time with other dogs so she can be a bit awkward with new puppy friends but is generally friendly and submissive with new pups.  She has started attending doggy daycare to become more dog saavy and continued dog socialization is definitely encouraged.  She also has a kitty friend in her foster home.  She will sometimes bark at him through the baby gate but has been cautiously interested with no barrier.  Once she settles in with the cat, she may be more interested but hasn't shown any signs of aggression with the cat in our home.

Lili loves people and will readily approach for pets and attention.  She does jump up if she gets excited so we are working on that with encouraging sits before she gets pets from people.  She has met some kiddos and was very excited about them.  She did jump up so she may do best with kids 6+ but was very sweet and comfortable with them.

Lili is a medium energy pup.  She loves running around with the other pups in the yard but after a 30 minute walk she crashes for a nap.  She does pretty well playing independently with toys so wouldn't need too much entertaining.  We are definitely still working on leash skills but she has already made lots of progress just over the last week.  She will bark at other dogs when she sees them on leash.  Now that we have a reliable sit command, I have her sit and focus on me when I see another dog coming and she has done really well with that.

Lili is still a puppy so we do crate her when we leave.  She has done well in the crate during the day when we are gone and at night and settles in pretty quickly.  She will bark if she hears people coming in or out so she may not be the best apartment pup.

Lili, like any puppy, will need some training work.  She has picked up some basic training really quickly and is very food motivated and engaged in training.  She knows sit, down, come and we have started working on leave it and wait.  She is a girl that likes to talk when she is excited so an adopter would have to be willing to tolerate or train through some barking in addition to the jumping and leash walking already mentioned.  Lili is also a bit unsure about going outside in the dark and is really scared of storms so would need some socialization around those things.

All of that being said, everyone who has met Lili says she is just the sweetest pup there ever was and we have really enjoyed having her in our home.  If you can commit to spending just a little time training this girl and polishing her up, you will definitely get the sweetest, most loyal pup out of deal.
