Leonardo found his peeps on November 10, 2020!

Silly pup, Leonardo is ready to entertain his forever family!  He playful and interactive and loves being the center of attention!

Leo starts his day with potty and playtime with the other dogs in our home. After breakfast he will either play some more or snuggle by your feet.  He is crated while I work, with a couple breaks throughout the day.  He settles in quickly when crated near you but we are still working on being crated away from us and when we leave. When we leave or if he is crated away from us he will settle in after some barking/whining and hasn't had any accidents in his crate.  After work hours, he gets more playtime with his foster siblings in the yard and lots of snuggles from his foster people.

Leo has loved meeting all the people and kids. He has met three kids (ages 2-7) and spent about an hour hanging out with them in the yard.  He loved playing with them and was completely comfortable being handled and with them running around him but he does get pretty mouthy when excited so should still be watched closely with younger kids.  He has met other neighborhood kids in the yard and was very interested in approaching them for pets.  He is an affectionate guy and loves to snuggle so he would be a great addition to just about any family.

Leo does great with other pups.  He is mostly respectful of the bigger/older pups.  He is a confident guy when playing with younger puppy friends and loves to play and wrestle. He has done well with sharing toys and eating near the other pups.

He does have a kitty friend in his foster home and has been curious about him.  He has responded well to swats from the kitty so he would likely do well with boundary setting from the kitty and the humans.

Leo is a medium-high energy puppy.  He would do great with another pup to help get his energy out or as a solo doggo with an active family.  He loves exploring in the yard and has discovered that playing with toys is pretty neat too.  He is quiet in the crate in the car and is always up for an adventure. We are still working on leash skills.  He does ok on leash but  will require coaxing to keep going.

We haven't worked too much on obedience training just yet but he has picked up on 'sit" very quickly.  He is very food motivated so will be a fun pup to train.  Potty training has been going well as long as we keep him on a schedule and give him lots of chances to go out.

Leo is still very much a puppy so we crate him when we leave the house and at bedtime. As he has settled in he has become more curious and needs to be watched more closely as he will find some things to chew on.

Leo has been a super fun pup to have around.  He will be a good adventure dog but also cool with quiet time at home with his people.  He will fit in with just about any family!
