Updates

Little Kell was adopted June 26th!

Kell wakes up any time between 5:30-7:30 AM. We take him outside to go potty immediately after he wakes up. He has a lot of energy in the morning so we typically walk him for about 10-20 minutes or until he goes potty. After our walk, we get back inside and feed him his breakfast and make sure he gets some water. Then he usually plays a little and heads back to sleep for an hour or so, after he wakes up.  We usually take him outside again and then come back in to play.  Sometimes we offer a little bit of food during the day as well but he usually is fine with just breakfast and dinner, and treats. We usually give him dinner between 5:30-7:00 PM, after dinner we usually play around and take him out again around 9:30 PM for a short walk, then he likes to play or rest until about 10:30 PM where we take him out just in the yard for “last call” and then he goes in his crate at about 10:45 PM and falls asleep for the night.

Kell is great with people! He can be a little timid at first, but once he warms up he loves to just give you kisses! Kell can be a bit reactive towards other people on the leash but not in an aggressive way, he is just excited.

He is great with children! Kell has met a 14 year old and a 3 year old, and has done great.  He knows not to jump on little kids and is very gentle.  There are times he likes to give kisses and maybe a bit of a nibble but it’s painless and he does stop if you tell him to.

Kell is a medium-high energy dog.  If he could play all day, he definitely would.  But he does nap throughout the day too since he is still a puppy. He would really like a family who gives him lots of love and attention, he would probably need about 4-5 short walks a day since he is still working on a potty schedule and play time for a few minutes every now and then. He loves to run, sometimes we take little jogs around the neighborhood and Kell loves it!

He hasn’t been exposed to any dogs inside of the house.  Kell has seen and met other dogs while outside on walk.  He is good around other dogs and he just wants to play. I think a home with low energy dogs would not be a good fit for him since he is a very high energy pup.  He would be okay with younger high energy pups! He definitely would love to have play time with other dogs for sure!

Kell is okay with cats. He doesn’t bark or growl at them but he does try to play with them. Kell probably would do better in a home without cats since there are times where he can try to chase the cat(s) but he is okay as long as you watch him.

We haven’t left Kell alone too many times but when we did he did alright.  We usually leave him in his crate when we leave the house and there are times where he can whine and bark, but we think he does fine alone as long as he’s crated.

He can be shy sometimes, but once he knows your friendly, he will ask for belly rubs and will give kisses!
